Parish Room Restoration
The small Victorian building in the churchyard of St Peter & st Paul Church was built as a Sunday school. It is now in need of some TLC to turn it into a warm and comfortable place for village meetings and a social venue. The roof has been replaced and we are now starting (6 October 2024) a fundraising effort to renovate the interior. It will need a new insulated floor, internal wall and ceiling insulation, better heating and restored windows. We're also hoping to add a small kitchen.
The Church of England has agreed to match fund our individual donations up to a ceiling of £10,000 as part of its goal to reach net zero by 2030. Pettistree Parish Council has also agreed to use CIL money for the project.
The 6 week period from 6 October will be the main fund raising period and our small rural village is hoping for some generous donations. There will also be free events to encourage giving. See Village Events
